New York Fashion Week is here, & I have a fresh group of talent that I am dying to share with you. First up is Bijou Karman, an artist based in Los Angeles. Her work utilizes layers of color, pattern & the occasional piece of environment. One of the signature details in her illustrations, specifically the close-ups, are the eyes; she puts character into that part of the face with lines & shadows, as though her subjects have lived a lot of life. There’s also a heavy influence from past decades. Overall I get a significant 60s vibe, & that is one of my FAVORITE decades. What more do you need to know?? Start scrolling!!
