This year’s Met Gala 2019 theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion. Not to be confused with camping, here is a portion of the Google definition: “deliberately exaggerated and theatrical behavior or style.” Now that we have the facts straight, I need to come clean. I am not (typically) a fan of campy fashion, especially in its most absurd form. However, I ended up liking more looks than I initially thought so here we are. I just need you to be aware that my favorite looks list will probably look very different from others floating around the web. If you are the opposite of me, prepare to be slightly underwhelmed. I have two things to discuss before I wrap this up:

1. This category was meant for Lady Gaga who is the epitome of “camp.” If I liked all four of her outfits, she may have ended up on top.

2. I want to give a shout-out to Elle Fanning, Hailee Steinfeld, & Zendaya, the princesses of my favorite looks list. If Elle was going for a mashup of Harajuku & I Dream of Jeannie, she nailed it! Hailee is the brunette Alice in Wonderland that we definitely need in our lives. Zendaya utilized the classic elements of Cinderella & brought added flare through acting (she literally became a Disney princess) & lighting inside her dress. Also, her purse was a mini, glittery pumpkin carriage (courtesy of Judith Leiber), & she left a glass slipper on the red carpet stairs. Details matter!

Speaking of princesses, drum roll please for my Best Dressed queen . . . 🥁 🥁 🥁

Before you scream at me, remember that I gave you a fair warning all the way back at the top of this blog post. I know this is an understated choice given the category & event, but I have to go with my gut & pick my favorite look. Emma looked stunning in layer upon layer of pink tulle, & the floral accessories were the cherries on top of a fairytale sundae. Bellísima! 💋
