Dallas has a few different styles, but this one makes up the majority of her portfolio. Lines that continue outside of the “models” are not erased. The facial features are not heavily defined and sometimes nonexistent; the eyes resemble asterisks, and, when present, the mouths are faint and the noses tiny. Random Thought: Call me crazy, but her characters remind me of “Holly Hobbie and Friends.” I think it has something to do with the face shape and soft features.

Sisters Kerrie and Megan are similar, but there are features that distinguish their styles. Kerrie uses reds, purples, and pinks with the occasional blue or mint green. Her work is painted, and her style is soft and dreamy. Megan uses a broad color palette. Her work is hand-drawn, and the final products are digital, precise, and rich in appearance. Both put detail into the environments, but architecture plays an important role in Megan’s work, more so than in Kerrie’s illustrations. Such a talented family, and yet they have success as individuals. Brava!

Nadine’s characters have long, exaggerated limbs and small heads with little or no facial features. The details on the clothing are small and intricate; the effect is mesmerizing whether the illustration is zoomed in or out.
