– JaeSuk Kim –

JaeSuk’s signature characters, known as “Susu Girls”, are distinguishable by their willowy figures, white skin, short black hair, and lack of facial features except small, black lips. They appear to be flat like paper dolls, but dark, precise outlining adds depth and keeps them from being one dimensional. It feels as though they could be peeled off the illustrations with ease.

Jeannette’s style is breezy and nonchalant, and yet her work has detail, movement, and elegance. Her characters remind me of mini mannequins. Very appropriate for fashion illustrations! 🙂

The first word I think of is “Crisp.” The pigmentation is rich; the color combinations are aesthetically pleasing; and there are a variety of textures, each distinctly depicted. Also, I can’t explain why, but Joanna’s characters remind me of book illustrations.

I know this is technically mixed media, but some rules are meant to be broken. Limzy’s work is breathtaking, unique, and special. I don’t think I need to say more.
