These are my favorite looks from the week of June 7th. Enjoy!
JUNE 7
– Amanda Seyfried in Oscar de la Renta –

This “Edgy Goddess” look is dark, but it does not overpower the sweetness of Amanda Seyfried’s personality, a characteristic that makes her look so approachable. For some strange reason, the see-through panel near the hem is enough of a break from the main pattern; I don’t think I would like this look as much if that wasn’t there, even though it is small. The dress does feel a bit too fall/winter, but Amanda looks beautiful so I consider that objection null and void. What I am in love with for sure are those shoes. I would buy those in a heartbeat if I had a bottomless wallet.
– Emily Skeggs in Christian Siriano –

What a look! I would never have thought that a big 60s pattern could work on an a-line gown, but the styling was key to pull off this look. Emily’s short haircut, natural makeup, and simple accessories let the pattern shine. Also, the makeup color palette, brown eye shadow and a light mauve lipstick, complement the mint blue and yellow in the dress.
– Jennifer Lopez in Valentino –

I am not a fan of how low the neckline is. That is a personal preference, plain and simple. However, the harmonious color combinations of this look cannot be ignored. Jennifer’s light hair complements the gold shooting stars appliques, and her maroon red lipstick complements the midnight blue dress.
– Kelli O’Hara in Oscar de la Renta –

I deleted this look but brought it back because of regret. I love the color and the pattern; both are beautiful for spring. My favorite detail is the wavy neckline with eyelash lace trim. I think there are two things that are making me hesitant to be 100% for this dress. Numero uno: The green dress against a green background on the red carpet makes the dress less distinct, even though it is a lighter shade. Even Kelli’s hair looks a little green due to color reflection. Numero dos: The length feels heavy. I think a little trim to the hem would work wonders. Having said all that, this look is still one of my favorites from the Tony Awards.
JUNE 9
– Reese Witherspoon in Draper James –

This is pattern-mixing done right! A navy blue and white gingham top paired with a floral tote and completed with blood orange heels, a pop of color. These pieces are simple and not hard to find, and yet the result is polished and put-together.
– Sarah Jessica Parker in Elie Saab –

I have taken the liberty of naming this dress “Coral Reef.” The pops of red, pink, green, and gold against the “tie-dye” mix of blues is stunning. I don’t usually like when necklaces overlap an outfit, but I am making an exception because the silver and light blue necklaces blend in with the pattern seamlessly. I also want to give a shout-out to the fact that the pops of gold in the dress are making the honey blonde color of Sarah’s hair stand out and shine. The small details matter!!
JUNE 10
– Reese Witherspoon in Draper James –

Reese is winning the street style game. Five different pops of red paired with cuffed jeans and a black blazer. Once again, the pieces of this outfit are simple, but they pack a style punch.
– Aubrey Peeples –

I love everything thing about this dark, vampire-esque look except the silver shoes. They do not kill the outfit; I just can’t bring myself to like silver heels. Everything else– the auburn ombre hair, the dark red lipstick, the black cape dress, the black nails, and the black and silver jewelry –is spot on.
– Cassadee Pope –

Butter yellow is not one of my favorite colors, but Cassadee is managing to pull it off. The gold overlay, drop earrings, and nude sandals secured this look’s spot in this post.
– Jenna Dewan Tatum in Zuhair Murad –

I don’t like nightgown style of this dress (the spaghetti straps and low neckline), but the lace panels and plum color are too beautiful to pass up.
– Kimberly Perry –

I hate to repeat myself, but once again, I am not a fan of the revealing cutouts. However, they are so precise and well-done that I have to give credit where credit is due. Also, Kimberly’s hair looks gorgeous against the sapphire blue gown.
JUNE 11
– Olivia Wilde –

This whole outfit is stylish, but my main reason for highlighting it is because I love brown shoes (flats or heels) with jeans. That is such a simple thing, but its one of my favorite style combinations.
– Sandra Bullock in Stella McCartney –

Unlike most people at the “minions” premiere, Sandra did not wear anything yellow. I applaud her not because wearing yellow to that event would have been a bad thing but because her dark outfit does not blend into the yellow carpet. The unique style is on display as it should be.
My best dressed pick for this week is Emily Skeggs. Two thumbs up!! 🙂

I am going to try writing a “Best Dressed” post at least once a month. My ultimate goal is every week, but I am setting the bar low just in case the task becomes overwhelming. Fashion is art, and I want to highlight it more on this art blog.
Thank you for reading this post. I will be posting again soon. Good night!
