All it took was one moment. He drove through Fort Snelling National Cemetery, spotted a bald eagle perched atop the gravestone of soldier Maurice Ruch, and, without hesitation, snapped 60-plus photographs with his Nikon camera. Amateur photographer Frank Glick’s name is now trending along with his photograph which has touched the hearts of civilians and soldiers across the United States and abroad. Glick stated the following: “Sure, I wouldn’t mind getting rich off of it, but that probably isn’t happening. It makes people feel better. It makes them feel warm and fuzzy. That’s what it’s for.”
As an artist, I am thrilled for Mr. Glick. It only took one picture to make his name known, but he remains honest and humble. It would be great if this attention made him wealthy, but he is content with the impact it is having on viewers.
