I have always wished that I could be a painter. There is something about the way paint looks and feels on canvas that excites me, especially when it is done by capable hands. Jim Mitchell is indeed capable. The sole element that makes his paintings stand out is the quality of light, whether natural or artificial; one can feel the glow and warmth. The lighting is bewitching and makes the scenes feel special. I chose this particular painting for Christmastime because it is a memory that every person can relate to. Enjoy!
