As soon as October 1st has barely turned into November 1st, we get caught up in the excitement and hype of the holidays. There is a Thanksgiving dinner to plan, Christmas presents to buy, and New Year’s resolutions to be made. What is missing?…
A holiday that is, by no means, less important, a holiday that remains constant from year to year. The eleventh day of the eleventh month: Veterans’ Day. Why do we get to stuff ourselves on Thanksgiving, give and receive an abundance of Christmas gifts, and screw up New Year’s resolutions? Because there are men and women who have given up and continue to give up those luxuries.
To all the people who have served: Thank you!
